from Youth Opportunities

 

At the meeting on 4th June we had many visitors. We welcomed Jill Cant, Chris Grimm, Marilyn Armstrong, and a former member Helen Paul. We also welcomed Stephen Patterson, the newly elected MP for our district.

 

Our guest speakers were Kerin Hayden and Courtney Grigg from Youth Opportunities. Youth Opportunities run 10 week Personal Leadership programmes for Youth who are at risk . In 2017 the Personal Leadership programme graduated 631 students in 43 programmes across 22 schools within the state.

 

Beside this they run a programme to help young people reach their full potential by developing the skills and habits to thrive in school ,work and life. 103 students in 5 programmes across 3 schools graduated from the Thrive Programme.

 

It was good to hear of the good work done by this organisation for the Youth in South Australia.
