At the meeting on 14th August we welcomed Keith Tidswell from the Rotary Club of Ankara in Turkey. Judy Shipp sat next to Keith on a flight from Perth and they got talking.
Once she found out that Keith was a Rotarian, Judy invited him to visit our club. Keith gave us a brief talk about the refugee crisis in Turkey. We look forward to seeing him again at one of our meetings.
We were also joined by three of the students from Suneden School who we sponsored to attend the Special Olympics held in Brisbane in the July school holidays. Tyler and Brodie were joined by their mother, and Joseph was accompanied by his mother. It was wonderful to hear how much the boys learned from this experience. They were very proud of all the medals and awards they won and were happy to show them off. We enjoyed the delicious cake which they brought for our dessert.
